Frequently Asked Questions
How long do the trips last?
Half day trips consist of 4 hours in length. Please allow up to 1 hour of your trip for fish cleaning. The boat will be rigged and in the water prior to departure to increase time on the water.
What time does the trips depart and return?
Morning trips depart at 7am and return at 11am. Afternoon trips depart at 2pm and return at 6pm.
Do I need to bring my own tackle?
I take pride in providing the highest quality rod and reels available from okuma, along with all lures, and terminal tackle. If you would like to bring your own setups you are more than welcome to do so. Keep in mind space is limited on a boat.
What lakes do you guide on?
We can fish on a variety of lakes around the Austin area each offers its own unique fishery. Those lakes include Lake Buchanan, Lake LBJ, and Inks Lake.
What is included in the trip?
Use of rod and reel setups, terminal tackle, bottled water, ice, and fish cleaning.
What do I need to bring / not included?
I have designed and priced all trips to be as all inclusive as possible. Appropriate clothing for the forecast, Sunscreen, Hat, Polarized Sunglasses, a cooler to take home your fillets are great to bring. All clients over the age of 17 are required by law to possess a valid Texas fishing license. Licenses can be purchased at Walmart, academy sports, and online at Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's website.
How many people can the boat accommodate?
My boat can hold up to 12 people maximum. I offer the largest, newest, most spacious boat in central Texas. Gone are the days of having to split up a group into multiple boats allowing everyone to fish with each other. If a even larger group is needed then more boats can be arranged. And yes we can take children! I enjoy introducing and teaching kids to the sport of fishing.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations are free of charge 7 days prior to the trip, Any cancellations within 7 days of the trip will result in the loss of deposit. Cancellations due to weather will be dealt with on an individual basis. In event of bad weather your deposit will be applied to a future date.
Where do we meet?
I will send pin drops for launch ramps and parking locations in a text prior to your trip.
What species of fish can we expect to catch?
Each lake has its own unique fishery and species. For the most part Largemouth, Smallmouth, Striped bass, Hybrid striped bass, White bass are the main targets, I will inform you on conditions and patterns to have the most successful trip possible.
What is a typical gratuity?
While gratuity is not required it is much appreciated and a standard tip is 15-20% of the trip price like any other service industry. I take pride in my customer service and I'm here to show you the best time possible on the water!
