Recently I have been experimenting with a new technique that has been proven to be very effective for catching striped bass on the fly. This involves slow trolling flies on sinking line to present a shad imitating fly to fish actively feeding on shad in deeper waters. All experimental trips were successful and lead me to offer this to clients. This has proven to be a deadly technique and the flies have even out fished other traditional methods. The winter bite has turned on at lake buchanan we have been catching on average 10-40 fish on the fly in the mornings. And even more in combination with jigging spoons and live bait. Now is the time to book those trips!
